Mead Making 101

An introductory class on how to make Mead, the ancestor of all fermented beverages. Mead is an easy-to-make yet very fancy alcoholic beverage which can be prepared in many different styles. We will cover: mead history, basic brewing techniques, and the different types of mead, including fruit and herb meads.

Cost: $10
(Includes $5 store credit.)

Limited seating, so call or visit to reserve a spot.

We will have multiple types of honey, yeasts, and additives available to make your own batch at home.

Making Camembert at Home

Camembert is similar to Brie, has a soft edible rind, a runny interior, and is usually made in 4 inch rounds. It is perhaps one of the more well known classic types of cheese, and is a "bloomy rind" style. More details below...

After the success of our first "Exchange" party we now getting ready for the Spring edition. Start getting your homebrews, cheese, soda, wine ready to show off to neighbors and friends.

In case you missed the first "Exchange", it is a gathering of fellow hobbyists that get together to taste each others DIY foods and beverages..

Hop Rhizomes Available for Pre-Order

We are about to order a bunch of hop rhizomes (root cuttings). Hops are a very nice climbing perennial that grow great here. Even if you don't brew beer, they are a great landscaping vine.

We plan on ordering Cascade, Centennial, Willamette, Mt. Hood, Sterling, and Nugget. We will have limited availability, so we recommend pre-paying by the end of the week (by Friday, February 26 at noon), for the discounted price of $4 each. You can call our store or send your contact info and request via our contact page.
