Camembert is similar to Brie, has a soft edible rind, a runny interior, and is usually made in 4 inch rounds. It is perhaps one of the more well known classic types of cheese, and is a "bloomy rind" style. More details below...

If you have a wine refrigerator or another environment where you can keep the temperature at 55F, it is not difficult to create this cheese at home and it is very rewarding experience to create this classic French cheese in your own home. In this class we will discuss the ingredients and demonstrate the steps in making this cheese.

With this class you will receive two small starter packets of the mesophilic culture and the white molds necessary to create your own batches of Camembert. Additional cultures, rennet, and molds will be available for purchase. A few external thermostats will be available that you can use to create your own aging cave from a mini fridge, and more can be ordered upon request.

Class size limited to 12 people. Reserve your seat by calling or dropping by the store with your payment. 503-286-0343Cutting the CurdsCutting the Curds
