Homebrew Beer Recipe
6 lbs Pilsen Liquid Malt Extract
1 lb Amber Dry Malt Extract
8 oz Crystal 60
8 oz Crystal 80
4 oz Biscuit
3 oz Chocolate Malt
1 oz Willamette Hops (60 min)
2 oz Mt Hood Hops (15 min)
1 oz Willamette Hops (5 min)
1/4 t Irish Moss (15 min)
Wyeast Northwest Ale yeast
Bring 1.5 gallons of water to 165 degrees. Add grains to a grain bag and steep at 155 for 40 min. Sparge (rinse) grains in bag with about 1.5 gallons of water at 155 degrees. Discard grains. Bring grain tea to a boil. Turn off heat and add 1/2 of liquid malt extract. Stir till dissolved. Bring back to a boil. Start 60 min timer. Add hops according to schedule above. 15 min before the end of the boil, turn off heat and add remaining liquid malt extract stir till dissolved. Bring back to a boil. Add Irish Moss. When timer goes off, turn off heat and cool in an ice bath or with a wort chiller. Cool to about 80 degrees. Add to fermenter. Add water to bring total volume to 5 gallons. Aerate. Pitch yeast. Put on airlock. Let ferment! After fermentation is complete, prime with 3/4 c corn sugar and bottle. Enjoy!
