Extract Ingredients:
1 lb Demerara Sugar
2 oz Cara Pils
2 oz Rolled Oats
2 oz Crystal 15
2 oz German Pilsner
3 oz peeled and grated fresh Ginger Root
Munton's Ale Yeast
Extract Instructions:
To brewing pot add 1 gallons of water and bring to 170F. Put grains and oats in a grain sock and soak for 30 minutes at about 165F. Remove grains and stir in demerara (turn off heat until dissolved). Bring to boil, add half of ginger, and boil for about 15 minutes. Add the rest of ginger at end of boil and turn off heat. Cool in ice bath to about 75F. Strain out grated ginger. Pour into fermenter. Pitch yeast and follow regular fermentation procedures.
